2nd day of Fall camp.....on the Grassy Knoll...

....produces a mild buzz with the Jeremy Childs presser, but frankly I am sick and tired of it. Let us move on. Wish the media, who gets invited to these press conferences, would ask questions that I cared about. The Childs suspension is comparable to the Brett Favre debacle, just plain tiresome.

Below, an Angry Harper making his way through
Not suppose to mention the certain formations/trade secrets......according to the Gestapo

Second day of camp also delivers some pictures from over the ivy covered wall and through the chain link fence. I have seriously thought of renting a room on the 3rd level at the Courtyard on Broadway next to the East Junior High practice field, but that borders on OCD, and I am not down with that. That being said, the thought still lingers, where this damn blogger could take pictures, could give live updates on which backup qb is hanging out around the water cooler.

In other news, OBNUG has complimented and challenged the local fishwrap, Idaho Statesman, to keep up the impressive coverage of Fall Camp. Does the Idaho Press Tribune get no love?

Drew at Fight Fight brings up the Vandals.....dangerous line he crossed, perhaps? Do you want Vandals perusing your blog? Inquiring minds want to know!
Potential podcast in the realm of possibilities tonight, and should be up by tomorrow or the next day!

Horrible over the fence....

.....practice pics risking life and limb, due to no media credentials and the ruthless gestapo lurking around every corner. I excuse the pics as they are better than nothing but very close to not being worthy of even posting to this blog. These pics were taken as the practice was breaking down and the players were running wind sprints.

Also in the news, the local media gave out several quips from the Coach Pete's Press conference (click on link to listen) to kick off the 2008 Fall camp.

Shockingly enough there has not been any definite selection on the QB derby and there has been a confirmed Jeremy Childs sighting.

More interesting is that Jeremy Childs has returned but will skip the initial contest against Idaho State for some infraction that might or might not have been related to schoolwork last year.

The most interesting news from the presser is that Coach Pete mentioned that there will be other suspensions for the first game but would not go into detail. That is not unusual due to the long break/offseason after spring ball where the players are away from the same old rhythm of the football rigors......

Local bloggers giving their 2 cents

Local blogger, Bronconationnow, who shares an affinity for podcasts has an opinion about the so-called "real" media starting their own podcasts...I also wish the real media luck in this podcast arena.
Local real media eschewing their opinions-
I think these different reports/blogs/opinions reinforces there is a need for this type of media exposure. What used to be once a day reporting in newsprint has transferred to immediate information. It used to be newspapers were the once a day media source (twice a day in bigger cities, where they have evening editions). You add in the tv media which reports at 5pm, 6pm, and 10pm, with apologies to the Fox 12 local telecast which airs at 9pm but I do not believe they even have sports on their broadcasts.
Interesting enough, I saw Vin Crosby, a local Fox 12 weatherman, delivering some flowers to fair young maiden behind a local high class hotel chain. He introduced himself to the fair maiden behind the hotel desk, so I assume it was business related but I have to give props to Vin........you can never go wrong with flowers.

7.31 stadium expansion via Protest Hill and Tablerock

click on any photo to see the enlarged version .......we have all seen this lil project grow up in front of our eyes, but here is some pics from a few different angles. Enjoy
Coming from the south, arriving at the stadium

The always forgotten student side...gets no love/expansion

From Tablerock...too bad it was so hazy

For my homies, still getting locked up in the system....pour out a lil liquor ( the old state pen.)

In relation to the downtown area.....the stadium is not too shabby size-wise

7.29.08 Cloudy Day Expansion

Please excuse the smudge on the camera.... just had to fix a flat tire off the Broadway exit. One guy stopped by since I was driving a (work) minivan and I thought that was awfully nice and "Boise" of him. If that guy ever read this blog, I would like to tell him thank you.....but I wish the Swedish Bikini team would have dropped out of the sky and offered up some help.

The weather was overcast, but still hot, and so these pics ( bottom of post) don't look as crisp as some others but they will suffice. At the bottom of this paragraph are some awesome shots taken "during a tour" by a man of few words and a lot of face paint- OrangeDeath. Props for posting those over at BroncoCountry.com

Word has it that the final spring scrimmage is going to be closed to the public and that is a bummer, since the lads from the Podcast were thinking about doing a live podcast from the scrimmage ( all audio, no video). So much for bringing the people what they want! There is a rougher open-to-the-public scrimmage on August 11 and August 16. Maybe that August 16 will be the day to bust out some live on the spot audio podcasting!

residue on the bricks....
...getting cleaned off
Hope the Broncos do not become the New "U"...as in the Miami of old.
Dirty shot from the road coming down from Warm Springs Mesa. The Pressbox on the left is right up there with the downtown structures as far as being enormous. Note the Boise River on the lower right. Still one of the best parts of the Downtown Boise area! Of course, the pic was snapped while driving so of course the phone wires could not have been in a better place.
Football starts on August 4th!

The Hiatus is over

Return of the Podcast, involving lack of ticket arrangements at Boise State, finalizing the expansion, and the announcement of the new radio gig/announcer.
