......was really sick! About 10 feet away from the band and digging the sound. Big props to 94.9FM River for helping out with the gig and not scaring away the guy with the camera. Another shout out to Garth for supposedly helping out and providing the venue. Not sure who gets credit but I am sure proud to spread it around. Supposedly Garth knew the promoter and spent $500 to get the band in Boise ( after spending yesterday in Sandpoint, Idaho. The bassist, Matt Grundy, told me that the weather was horrible up there and after 6 songs, the band got off the stage for safety reasons. Matt and Donavon jumped down into the crowd and played acoustic as long as they could be the weather became too much.)

Donavon had the keyboardist/entire horn section in Eric Brigmond, bassist Matt Grundy ( who has some friends in the Treasure Valley and has thought about making Boise his new home) and another guitarist, Tim Pierce ( apologies if that is wrong) tucked in behind them in a very small venue. The makeshift stage area had the 4 dudes in a 15 square feet of concrete surface area and that is being generous. I believe the drummer was there but they did not have enough room- pure speculation.

The new album drops August 19th, Pass It Around.

Here Donavon is fine tuning his guitar on 13th street outside the Parilla Grill. Where else would you see the headliner prepping for a gig. People just left him alone.

After the show, we have Donavon autographing the arm of Summit, the son of my friend Doug. Thanks for taking the time to make the kid's day!

must see gig ...and for free! At the Parilla Grill, in the North End of Boise. Props to Garth Midnight for shelling out the $500 to make it happen. Get there early to get a seat.

The Day After...... Pepper and Slightly Stoopid

So here at the blog this homeboy has felt the effects of the show until the wee hours of the mid-morning, trying to mix in work, golf and family life. Must have been too much second hand smoke unless the beers were unusually stronger than normal.

I was too busy enjoying the music to focus on snapping any decent pics or good video clips, but this will have to do.

To connect this post to BSU, I ran into a few of the players ( one that might or might not be in a highly contest battle at his position), one player that is still on scholarship but is not medically cleared to play and one player that will be on the Bronconationnow podcast next week. I brought up the podcast with this former player/future podcaster guest speaker and he is stoked to do it and was actually anticipating doing a few days ago but there was a mix up with the communication.

The lineup for the podcasts look to be promising..........stay tuned.

Interesting enough, the Favre drama ends just as the Olympics begin. NBC Conspiracy Theorists rise up!

The video is not centered on the band but rather a hot piece looking to bum a light for some nicotine. Some honeys walk by at the 20-second mark or so. 2nd day of Fall camp.....on the Grassy Knoll...

....produces a mild buzz with the Jeremy Childs presser, but frankly I am sick and tired of it. Let us move on. Wish the media, who gets invited to these press conferences, would ask questions that I cared about. The Childs suspension is comparable to the Brett Favre debacle, just plain tiresome.

Second day of camp also delivers some pictures from over the ivy covered wall and through the chain link fence. I have seriously thought of renting a room on the 3rd level at the Courtyard on Broadway next to the East Junior High practice field, but that borders on OCD, and I am not down with that. That being said, the thought still lingers, where this damn blogger could take pictures, could give live updates on which backup qb is hanging out around the water cooler.

In other news, OBNUG has complimented and challenged the local fishwrap, Idaho Statesman, to keep up the impressive coverage of Fall Camp. Does the Idaho Press Tribune get no love?
